This forum is suitable for the discussion of all non-RPG topics.

Threads will be moderated on behavior rather than on topic, and all participating in the discussions will be expected to do so in the courteous and civilized fashion expected in the forums at Terra Wasteland, i.e. no insults, trolls, flames, etc.

Real-world religion and politics

While discussions involving real-world religious or political topics are permitted, due to their deeply personal nature, and their tendency to get ugly, they are not encouraged.

We would ask anybody initiating, or involved in a discussion related to such topics to keep the following points in mind before posting:

1) Terra Wasteland is an RPG website, there are many other websites far more suited to the discussion of such topics.

2) Interest in politics, in particular, is often heavily influenced by geography, for example a discussion on who is running for senator in Texas is going to have little interest to those outside of the USA.

3) By their very nature threads on politics and religion hold the most potential for misunderstanding, insult and flame, so such threads will be closely monitored.

Whatever the topic of a thread, the forums here at Terra Wasteland should remain a place where people can come to participate in discussions in a friendly and civilized manner.

Pointless Topics/Posts

The GD forum has had a recurring problem in reconciling pointless posts, silly weird-links-of-the-day, and off-topic threadjacks with the need for an edition/game-neutral forum for general discussions.

The aggressive pruning of Threads of Pointless Posts and deleting off-topic threads has only encouraged some members to seek to derail nearly every thread, regardless of the topic and without any consideration for other members' efforts to engage in civil and constructive discussion.

Members who continually threadjack discussions after being asked to stop will receive formal warnings in accordance with Terra Wasteland's policies. Continued threadjacking will result in a one-week suspension and, if continued, a permanent ban.

Please note, very few members have ever been banned and it is not a practice that any of the Admins or Mods would like to be involved in. There is a vast difference between starting a thread to discuss a sporting event, and a thread that serves no purpose other than to post silly non-anything-related links, pictures or endless posts of "Pants," "Cheese," "IBL," or "+1."

As per the other forums here at Terra Wasteland, threads that have been 'deleted' as they are considered 'Pointless' will be moved to a hidden forum called "Basket". If you feel that your thread has been removed inappropriately then approach a moderator and politely request a reinstatement, explaining your reasoning.
