(NBC) Revolution, a PA series
I'm looking forward to NBC's "Revolution." It will either be really good or really bad. If it's good, it'll be cancelled mid-season (yes, I'm a pessimist at times--Firefly survivor). It is set Fall +15, so it has a bit of an Aftermath! vibe to it (the default for Aftermath! was Fall +20 years).

On the show website, they have a small collection of modern (real world)
abandoned building that are good for evoking feeling and thoughts. A number of
them are in Detroit (go figure).

Definitely useful.

NBC put the pilot of "Revolution" up for online streaming today. The series premieres in two weeks (Monday, 17 SEP).

An interesting feel. It's fall +15 years, so close to default AM!. Observations: lots of bows, some flintlocks, and "modern" firearms appear to be are but are "fight-stoppers." I can't wait to see where this goes, actually.

Looks interesting so far. The video pooped out for me right as the strongman dudes marched into the settlement. Some evocative bits up 'till that point. I really liked the abandoned city shots. A bit clean for a post apocalypse, but what can you do? It's TV; can't have it too realistic.

Heh. Well, it is a lot of work to make everything look dirty.
The Militia (of the Republic of Monroe) remind me of a better-organized version of the Holnists from "The Postman" (the movie, not the novel). It's definitely sparking some ideas.

I watched the rest. Definitely some good fodder for scenarios. I share your cynicism as far as cancellation. Even with keeping stuff clean there's got to be a lot of money going into making PA type TV sets. I would bet any indication that this isn't going to get big returns will likely get it put on the chopping block before before a show with cheaper props and dressings.

Re: (NBC) Revolution, a PA series
It looked good enough to me. The apocalypse isn't your average Gamma World, but it still works. It has a few pros and cons. For one, since it didn't get blown up by bombs(I don't think) then people could really survive it instead of dying like...well...Humans bombing themselves to atoms. But an the other hand, where are all the mutants creatures/zombies/aliens/robots/whatever that we all love to see? IMO, it would make a better big budget movie than a TV show. Also IMO, Nuka Break is better, and would make a better TV show. But, the show is still good.

You know what I just realized? Their adventure started in a tavern with the main character hunting down the baddies who killed her family. Now where have we heard that one before?
Re: (NBC) Revolution, a PA series
how does it stack up with Jermiah, the other descent PA series?
